The experts at One Ten Home Furnishings offer the following tips to consider before purchasing your furniture.
Step Four : Choose your furniture first, then design the rest of the room
Contrary to popular belief, you should design your walls and flooring after you choose your furniture. It is far easier to coordinate paint, wallpaper and window treatments to match the colors of a sofa’s covering as there are far more choices. (Not every sofa comes in every color or print). Bring a swatch of your sofa’s fabric when deciding the color scheme of your room and have the work done before your furniture arrives – the time between ordering and delivery can be a few weeks, leaving plenty of time for painters, contractors and carpenters.
Step Five: Fabric and Lifestyle:
Choosing the fabric of your sofa depends on your lifestyle. Leather is more durable, doesn’t fade as quickly and lasts longer than fabric. Fabric sofas have brighter colors and prints to match your decor or taste.
Step Six: Don't forget the lights!
Lighting is another key factor in planning a room. Windows provide different kinds of sunlight based on the time of day, but every room needs lamps – remember to consider this if your room does not have built in lights.
And while you are here...
Come in and relax! Pretend you are at home and sit on the sofas you like. Each sofa is different in length from the back to the edge, from seat to the top and has its own degree of softness. Comfort is just as, if not more important than style!
